Job Overview
Job description
That's what awaits you at ida
As a team leader, you not only have technical knowledge, but are also responsible for the organizational and operational management as well as the strategic development of our DevOps team. This means that you ensure that infrastructure projects are taken into account at an early stage, planned in a structured manner, capacities are used sensibly and technical platforms are operated reliably.
In addition, you will continuously develop our internal platforms and infrastructure processes together with the team.
In any case, you work closely with the team and remain technically close to the systems without having to take on the majority of the operational work yourself.
Of course, you keep an overview of ongoing infrastructure issues and ensure commitment and transparency.
You will also support your team in technical decisions and in this way ensure that knowledge and responsibility are sensibly distributed within the team.
As an experienced DevOps user, you know that if we want to offer our customers security, one or two on-call services are inevitable. The responsibility for on-call duty is distributed across the entire team.
Leadership responsibility with meaning: At ida, you design infrastructure and platforms for large digital offerings from media companies and in this way contribute to ensuring that journalistic products can be operated in a stable, scalable and sustainable manner.
Meanwhile, you decide for yourself where you work. Remote or office? We can do both.
you bring that with you
You have experience in operating modern cloud and infrastructure platforms and have already taken responsibility for technical teams, platforms or infrastructure projects. This means you have a lot of know-how when it comes to team management, capacity planning and prioritization in technical projects.
Your strength: Bringing structure to parallel, complex technical projects and managing teams effectively.
You are also familiar with the operation of cloud and container platforms (e.g. Kubernetes, GCP or comparable environments), have very good Linux knowledge, a solid understanding of networks (DNS, routing, firewall, ingress/egress), experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), automation (Ansible) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/OpenTofu).
In addition, you are familiar with agile working methods (Scrum, Kanban): you work with them without them becoming an end in themselves.
And in all of this, do you communicate clearly and in a structured manner, convey technical topics in an understandable manner and are extremely solution-oriented? Top. We think it's really, really good.
what is particularly important to us
Diversity is something we strive for. We would therefore like to expressly encourage FLINTA*, BIPoC, LGBTQIA+ and people with disabilities to apply to ida. We've written down some requirements here, but you don't meet all of them? No problem. We look forward to seeing you.
