Category Buying Assistant (m/w/d)

Role Summary

As a Category Buying Assistant, you support our procurement team in day-to-day business and ensure smooth processes relating to supplier, item and price data. You take responsibility for data quality and administrative processes in supplier management, handle operational issues and act as an important interface between purchasing and internal departments and suppliers. With your structured way of working, you create transparency, solve operational issues efficiently and enable our strategic buyers to concentrate on negotiations and the further development of our supplier relationships.

Requirements

About your tasks

• Ensuring the quality of item, price, supplier and condition data in close coordination with suppliers and strategic buyers.
• Function as an escalation authority for complaints, especially price deviations and operational delivery disruptions.
• Creation and preparation of evaluations, analyzes and decision-making bases to support strategic purchasing decisions.
• Supporting strategic buyers in the preparation and follow-up of contract and price negotiations, including data preparation and documentation.
• Close collaboration and active interface coordination with internal stakeholders such as Demand & Supply, Finance, Quality Assurance, Category Management and Retail Media.

About you

• You have completed commercial training or a degree in business administration, supply chain, purchasing or a comparable field.
• Ideally, you have gained initial professional experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain or in an operational interface function - also through internships or working student positions.
• You communicate securely and in a service-oriented manner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• You are an analytical thinker, solution-oriented and able to keep track of multiple parallel tasks.
• You have a high affinity for numbers and a confident use of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Very good knowledge of German and good written and spoken English skills round off your profile.
