Role Summary

Control and coordination of approval and planning processes for industrial and energy plants from the concept and feasibility phase to official approval and implementation

Analysis of legal, technical and environmental framework conditions (e.g. BImSchG, WHG, building and pollution control law) and development of project-specific approval and approval strategies

Coordination of the entire approval process with authorities, approval bodies and external parties including coordination and requirements management

Preparation, review and support of application and planning documents, technical descriptions, reports and reports as part of the approval process

Controlling the interfaces to internal departments (e.g. process engineering, construction, environment, safety and legal) as well as ensuring a consistent flow of information in the project

Identification of project risks and approval hurdles as well as development of measures for official requirements or project changes

Ensuring high-quality, consistent and traceable documentation of all approval-relevant content

Working method & mindset

Structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working, even in complex project environments with many people involved. Strong understanding of technical, regulatory and organizational relationships in industrial projects. Reliable control of interfaces between specialist disciplines, project participants and authorities. Clear, binding and appropriate communication to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Completed studies in engineering (e.g. process engineering, chemical engineering, environmental, civil or mechanical engineering) or a comparable technical qualification. Several years of professional experience in industrial, plant engineering or energy projects with a focus on approval planning, system planning or project management. In-depth knowledge of the relevant approval and specialist laws (e.g. BImSchG, WHG, construction and environmental law) as well as experience in dealing with authorities and experts. Experience in EPC or EPCM projects as well as in working with external planning offices and subcontractors is an advantage. Knowledge of tendering and awarding processes as well as cost and deadline relationships is desirable.

Skills

  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written German, especially for approval and project documentation. Good English skills for working in international projects. Confident use of common project and documentation software as well as MS Office.
