The UI/UX Designer intern provides creative and methodological support to the Principal UI/UX Engineer, in the overall redesign of the human-machine interface (HMI) of our wind turbines. It contributes to the definition of a new modern and intuitive graphic language, aimed at improving the operational efficiency of operators and reducing their cognitive load. The intern actively participates in the creation of a coherent design system, intended to be deployed across the company's entire interface portfolio.

The position is part of a strategic modernization phase, involving close interfaces with development teams (for technical feasibility) and field operators (for user needs). The intern participates in structuring a lasting visual identity, while developing his understanding of ergonomic issues linked to industrial operations.

The UI/UX Design intern provides creative and methodological support to the Senior UI/UX Engineer in the complete redesign of the human-machine interface (HMI) for our wind turbines. They contribute to defining a new, modern, and intuitive graphic language aimed at improving the operational efficiency of operators and reducing their cognitive load. The intern actively participates in the creation of a coherent design system intended for deployment across the company's entire network of interfaces.

This position is part of a strategic modernization phase, involving close collaboration with development teams (for technical feasibility) and field operators (for user needs). The intern participates in structuring a lasting visual identity while developing their understanding of the ergonomic challenges related to industrial operation.

Roles and responsibilities

The UI/UX Designer intern will be able to contribute to the following activities:

  • Design and deploy a new visual language (style, icons, color palette, typography) to modernize the turbine HMI.
  • Structuring and documenting a complete Design System bringing together graphic components and guidelines, guaranteeing future consistency across all company interfaces.
  • Create interactive models and prototypes (via Figma) to demonstrate user flows and validate ergonomic choices before implementation.
  • Analyze operators' needs and formulate recommendations for improvement on user journeys (workflows) in order to reduce the risk of error.
  • Document design choices and associated business logic to facilitate development work and ensure system maintainability.
  • Participate in feedback sessions with end users (operators) and developers to iterate on the proposed solutions.
  • Ensure creative and ergonomic monitoring to propose innovative solutions meeting industrial technical constraints.

Requirements

  • Student in a Design school, ergonomics, Human Factors, or equivalent training with a specialization in UI/UX.
  • Confirmed mastery of the Figma tool.
  • Understanding of the fundamental principles of UX (usability, information hierarchy, accessibility).
  • Marked interest in the interface of complex or industrial systems.
  • Fluency in French; operational English desired to document the design system.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment, with curiosity, a spirit of synthesis and methodological rigor.

  • Proven proficiency with Figma.
  • Understanding of fundamental UX principles (usability, information hierarchy, accessibility).
  • Strong interest in the interface of complex or industrial systems.
  • Fluency in French; working knowledge of English is preferred for documenting the design system.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment, with curiosity, analytical skills, and methodological rigor.
