To strengthen our team in Mainz / Remote, we are looking for a Senior Kubernetes Plaform Engineer – Consultant (m/f/d) for our Cloud Native business unit.

As a Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer / Consultant (m/f/d) you will develop modern cloud native and developer platforms, advise our customers on architecture and technology topics and implement scalable Kubernetes solutions in enterprise environments.

Main areas of activity

Advising our customers on Kubernetes, cloud native and platform engineering strategies

Analysis of requirements and conception of modern developer and container platforms

Architecture, design and implementation of Kubernetes environments in cloud, hybrid and on-premises scenarios

Conducting workshops, assessments and technical strategy discussions

Introduction of DevSecOps, GitOps and automation concepts

Supporting Kubernetes migrations and modernizing existing platforms

Support in technology decisions and evaluation of suitable platform and infrastructure components

Work closely with our cloud, security, data and software teams

Establishing and maintaining long-term customer relationships as well as supporting pre-sales activities

Active knowledge transfer within the team and with our customers

Your qualifications

Professional experience, studies or training in the field of IT

Several years of experience in Kubernetes, cloud native and platform engineering environments

Experience in designing, building and operating Kubernetes platforms

In-depth knowledge of container technologies, Linux and automation

Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD

Customer-oriented, structured and independent way of working

Very good knowledge of German (at least C1) and good English (at least B2)

In addition, you ideally have

Experience with AKS, EKS, GKE, OpenShift, Rancher or VKS

Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, particularly with a focus on vSphere Kubernetes Service (VKS)

Knowledge of GitOps, DevSecOps and Observability

Experience with multi-cloud, hybrid cloud or private cloud environments

Know-how in Terraform, Argo CD, Flux or comparable technologies

Relevant certifications such as: CKA, CKAD, CKS or cloud certifications

Experience in conducting workshops and technical consulting projects
