Role Summary

• Platform & Data Modeling
• Conception, implementation and further development of BI/DWH solutions based on SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Datasphere
• Design and construction of robust data models and ETL routes (LSA/LSA++, transformations, dataflows)
• Migration of existing SAP BW objects into future-proof Datasphere or BDC architectures
• Connection of SAP and non-SAP source systems (S/4HANA, ECC, external APIs) to the data platform
• Reporting & Visualization
• Development of stories, dashboards and planning applications in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
• Supporting departments with self-service reporting and SAC usage
• Optimization of existing reports in terms of performance, data quality and user-friendliness
• Advice & collaboration
• Recording and translating technical requirements into technical solution concepts
• Close collaboration with specialist departments (Finance, Controlling, Sales, Operations) as well as SAP Basis and ERP teams
• 2nd level support and operational responsibility for the analytical systems
• Active participation in the data & analytics roadmap and evaluation of new SAP technologies (BDC, SAP AI, Joule)

Requirements

• Required qualifications or knowledge
• Completed degree in (business) informatics or comparable qualification
• First practical project experience in the SAP BW/BI environment
• Sound knowledge of SAP BW or BW/4HANA: data modeling, InfoProviders, transformations, ETL processes
• Experience with SAP Datasphere (spaces, data flows, analytical model, data products)
• Programming knowledge in SQL, ABAP or CDS Views
• Analytical thinking skills, structured way of working and strong communication skills as an interface IT ↔ department
• Very good knowledge of German, good knowledge of spoken and written English
• Ideally – strong plus
• Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC): story creation, data models, planning applications
• Experience with SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) or SAP BTP
• Knowledge of SAP Analysis for Office or BEx Query Designer
• Good understanding of data mesh approach
• Initial experience with migration scenarios (BW → BW/4HANA or BW → Datasphere)
• An advantage – but not a must
• Knowledge of Python (pandas, scikit-learn) for data-driven analysis or ML prototyping
• Experience with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark or similar big data platforms
• Basic knowledge of AI/GenAI use cases in the SAP ecosystem (SAP Joule, Embedded AI in SAC)
• Agile working methods (Scrum, SAFe)
