Role Summary

About the position

As an HSE Coordinator within Eurofins, you directly contribute to a safe, healthy and sustainable working environment. You are the point of contact in the field of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and ensure that we comply with the applicable laws and regulations and the high standards of Eurofins. You are part of the QHSE team.

You work closely with colleagues from operations and management, conduct audits and ensure that improvements are structurally implemented. Thanks to your sharp eye, analytical skills and hands-on approach, you know exactly how safety and quality go hand in hand.

Responsibilities

What are you going to do?

In this role you are responsible for coordinating and carrying out all HSE activities; you keep an overview, identify risks and ensure that improvements are actually achieved. In concrete terms, this means that you:

• Monitor compliance with HSE guidelines, protocols and procedures and ensure that you remain up-to-date with relevant legislation and regulations;
• Actively contributes to maintaining and improving the management systems ISO 14001 (environmental care) and ISO 45001 (safety and health);
• Chairs prevention and occupational health and safety meetings and ensures that action points are followed;
• Advises and supports departments on HSE-related issues and incidents;
• Strengthening HSE knowledge within the organization by providing and coordinating training and advising on health, safety and the use of PPE;
• Thinks about practical improvements within the HSE policy;
• Updates work instructions and manuals;
• Coordinating and carrying out internal and external HSE audits, including reports, root cause analyzes and monitoring follow-up of improvement measures;

Ensuring compliance with environmental, safety and occupational health and safety legislation through workplace inspections, measurements, management advice and encouraging continuous improvement.

Requirements

What are you taking with you?

You have a strong interest in safety, sustainability and process improvement. Thanks to your structured way of working, you know how to keep an overview and realize improvements. In addition, you have:

• HBO working and thinking level;
• At least 1 year of experience in a comparable position (for example as HSE coordinator or safety expert);
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (occupational health and safety, environment);
• You are in possession of an MVK diploma or willing to obtain it;
• You are a Biological Safety Officer or willing to obtain one;
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 is an advantage;
• A proactive attitude and the ability to inspire colleagues about safety;

Good communication skills in Dutch and English.
