Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, inspection, and repair of HGVs and trailers to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, diesel engine, and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
• Remove, repair, replace, and reassemble defective vehicle components and systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturer and workshop standards.
• Prepare vehicles and trailers for CVRT testing and carry out any necessary repairs to ensure compliance with roadworthiness standards.
• Test vehicles following maintenance and repair work to verify performance, safety, and reliability.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment and comply with all health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or in a similar vehicle maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, suspension systems, steering systems, and heavy vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Experience carrying out servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to high quality workmanship.
• Relevant technical training, certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in heavy vehicle mechanics.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements within a workshop environment.
