Role Summary

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

As a Data and Analytics Manager you are responsible for developing, managing and optimizing databases, ICT applications and data flows for data management. To achieve this, you work together with internal users and external partners. In this role you report to the IT manager.

The function

You combine operational database management with analysis, reporting and user support. You ensure that data is available to the organization in a structured, reliable and usable manner.

Management and development of databases

You develop technical specifications for the layout and further development of databases.

You supervise the development and programming of databases by external partners and draw up procedures for the use and entry of data.

You test completed databases together with users, analyze the results and formulate or coordinate the necessary adjustments.

You organize consultation moments with involved parties about the progress and development of database solutions.

You follow up project decisions and maintain communication with internal managers and external suppliers.

You prepare the implementation of databases and provide training to key users.

You investigate problems in the operation of organizations and funds or bottlenecks in data flows, and develop possible IT solutions.

You analyze user questions, develop or adapt individual databases and formulate proposals that meet their needs.

You identify user needs, evaluate existing applications and propose improvements.

You support users in the maintenance of databases and in the creation or modification of applications, forms, tables and reports.

Management of the common database

You manage users, data structures and access rights.

You are responsible for configuration, backup and general security of the system.

You work with MS SQL Server for the management and further structuring of database environments.

Reporting and analytics

You develop reports and dashboards so that data can be shared with users in a clear and useful way.

You check the correctness of data from annual accounts and subsidy files, among other things.

You compare data from different sources and work with data cubes and analytical datasets.

You use Power BI and Power Query, among other things, for reporting, visualization and data processing.

You process and interpret data flows and data formats such as JSON and XML where relevant for integrations and reporting.

Other activities

You participate in internal working groups and consultation moments.

Requirements

• You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• You have relevant experience in database management, software and database development or business intelligence.
• You have thorough knowledge of computer science, databases and BI tools.
• You work smoothly with MS SQL Server, Power BI, Power Query, JSON and XML.
• You can analyze user problems, develop solutions and formulate improvement proposals for data management and data flows.
• You are able to develop, program and manage user-friendly and correct databases based on information from various sources.
• You work independently within agreed guidelines, procedures and GDPR frameworks.
• You are strong in planning, organizing, problem solving and communication.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch or French and have a good knowledge of English.
• ⚠️ This position is offered as a part-time freelance role (80%).
