Ramboll Nederland is looking for a driven and resourceful candidate who advises clients on permit applications, spatial issues and environmental impact assessments (MER). This includes expert advice on environmental legislation relating to new or expanding industrial activities. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic team and work on exciting projects, broadly develop your skills and build a successful career within the environmental consultancy sector, from consultant to project manager.

For this position we are looking for someone with an excellent command of the Dutch language (preferably C1 or C2) and demonstrable experience with Dutch permits. You have a good command of the Dutch language, which means you can handle yourself well during consultation and coordination with both customers and the competent authority.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities are

  • Working on small to large-scale permitting projects and environmental impact assessments for various sectors;
  • Consulting with clients, contractors, supervisors and other professionals about all relevant parts of our projects;
  • Preparing reports, collaborating with other team members and providing progress updates;
  • Assistance in preparing (parts of) quotations under the guidance of the project manager;
  • Participate in supporting studies such as PGS analyses, ABM evaluations of substances of very high concern, water impact assessments, BAT assessments and BB-CVM;
  • Provide broad support to other disciplines including environmental management, compliance reviews and support with due diligence services;
  • Report in Dutch or English.

Your new team

You are part of the CST department of Ramboll Delft, where we work on various permitting, MER and compliance projects for our various clients. We are also involved in permit and planning evaluations and feasibility studies for offshore wind farms, hydrogen pipelines, CO2 storage (carbon capture) and other projects in the field of renewable energy and energy transition. You play an essential role within the Ramboll CST Benelux team (Dutch and Belgian offices) and work together with colleagues from across Europe and the US in defining and executing multiple projects with international clients.

Requirements

These include

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Spatial Planning, Urban Planning, Land and Water Management, Physical Geography or a comparable course;
  • Relevant work experience in consultancy (2–5 years — if you have more experience, don't let that stop you from applying if you're interested);
  • Thorough knowledge of permit procedures, environmental legislation and EIA procedures in the Netherlands;
  • High degree of independence, taking initiative and solution-oriented thinking;
  • An eye for detail and high accuracy;
  • Good communication skills (oral and written) in Dutch and English.
