Civil Works Supervisor

Role Summary

Ensure that the construction of each Retail store is executed in accordance with quality standards, safety regulations, technical specifications, environmental requirements and established schedule. Represent SGS as a third-party supervisory entity during the development of the project.

Participate in testing protocols (electrical/HVAC/hydraulic), startup and acceptance criteria until closure/punchlist ≤5 days.

Use tools and methods: AutoCAD (review and marking), MS Project/Excel (monitoring), digital log and professional photo reporting.

Validate contractor programs and apply them to recovery plans without compromising quality/safety.

Prepare and deliver Change Orders with supports in the client's format; application of deductions for items not executed or out of specification (traceable evidence).

 Technical Knowledge

•  Applicable regulations (Local regulations, NOM-001, NOM-031, etc.)
•  Light construction processes
•  ISO 9001 quality systems
•  Safety on site (NOM-019, 030, 017)
•  Basic environmental management on site

Requirements

Education: Civil Engineer, Architect, or related career (graduate)

Experience: Minimum 3 years in supervision of retail, commercial or light construction work

 Skills

•  Document organization and discipline
•  Effective communication
•  Troubleshooting in the field
•  Basic use of MS Office and tracking platforms

 Desirable Certifications

•  DC-3 in construction safety
•  Certification in technical supervision
•  Knowledge of environmental audits

Benefits

• Certifications: DC-3, work at heights/first aid; ISO 9001/45001 (exposure) is a plus.
• Modality: By work and specific time (≈4 months per store)
