Role Summary

New active ingredients can improve the lives of patients - but before they can be used, they must be extensively researched, tested and analyzed. As a biology laboratory technician, you support this important process and help ensure that new medications are safe and effective.

During your training, you will work in modern laboratories and learn about various biological, biochemical and molecular biological methods. You plan and carry out experiments, examine biological samples, evaluate results and carefully document your work. You will work with modern analytical devices and digital applications and make an important contribution to the development of innovative therapies.

This is what awaits you in your training

You will carry out laboratory experiments using biochemical and molecular biological methods and learn about various analysis methods.

You examine biological samples, cell cultures and microorganisms and research biological connections.

You operate modern analysis and measuring devices and evaluate test results using digital applications.

You plan experiments, carry them out independently and document your results precisely and comprehensibly.

You check active ingredients for their effectiveness and tolerability. You will also learn the importance of legally regulated preclinical examinations.

As part of preclinical research, you will also gain an insight into various examination models, which - depending on the area of application - can also include work with laboratory animals, whereby responsible handling, animal welfare and strict compliance with all legal and animal welfare requirements are always in the foreground.

You will further develop your skills in evaluating, interpreting and presenting scientific results.

You will work to high quality standards and learn how important accuracy and care are in pharmaceutical research.

The practical training takes place at our location in Ludwigshafen and takes place in cooperation with BASF SE. You complete the theoretical part in block lessons at the Natural Sciences Vocational School in Ludwigshafen.
