Senior Backend & Platform Engineer / IoT Architect (all gender) at ALTEN in Vienna, Vienna, Austria.
Role Summary
YOU...
- Continuously design and develop the architecture of our IoT platforms
- develop scalable backend services, microservices and APIs for energy management solutions
- migrate existing software components from C++ to a modern Rust-based architecture
- integrate IoT devices into our platform landscape
- operate and optimize productive Kubernetes and cloud environments on Azure (AKS)
- implement infrastructure-as-code solutions as well as automated CI/CD and deployment processes
- ensure high availability, performance, scalability and security of business-critical systems
- develop monitoring, observability and alerting solutions for stable 24/7 operation
- analyze technical requirements and translate them into sustainable architecture and platform solutions
- supports departments and stakeholders with technical issues and strategic decisions
Requirements
YOU...
- have a degree in computer science, software engineering or comparable training
- has several years of experience in backend development as well as in the operation of modern cloud and platform solutions
- have very good knowledge of Rust or C++ as well as distributed system architectures
- have experience with Kubernetes, Docker and cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure (AKS)
- know modern API technologies such as REST, gRPC and event-driven architectures
- have practical experience with Terraform, Ansible and Infrastructure as Code
- have know-how in the areas of DevOps, SRE, CI/CD and automated deployment strategies
- You have experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, ELK, OpenTelemetry or Jaeger
- work analytically, structured and solution-oriented
- you impress with your high level of initiative, sense of responsibility and ability to work in a team
- can communicate complex technical contexts to different stakeholders in an understandable way
