Role Summary

At praxipal, we are building an AI-powered healthcare admin workforce to address the global shortage of medical staff.

Medical assistants are too valuable to spend their days chasing callbacks, cleaning up schedules, sending repetitive messages, or wrestling with invoicing and documentation workflows. Staff should spend time on patients. That’s why we build Luna.

Our AI receptionist, Luna, answers and automates phone calls and she’s loved by hundreds of medical practitioners. Right now, we’re expanding her from calls to end-to-end patient communication across any channel. Over the next years, we’ll grow her into an AI worker that automates all administrative processes in medical practices, embedded directly into the systems practice teams already use.

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help us scale Luna from hundreds of medical practitioners to hundreds of thousands.

This is a deeply technical, high-ownership engineering role. You'll design, build, and operate production systems end-to-end - from architecture through to deployment and beyond.

We move fast and learn faster. One week you might be shipping a new AI agent capability; the next, you're re-architecting an integration layer or hardening our platform for the next order-of-magnitude growth. You'll always be working on whatever matters most for Luna's future.

You'll ship to production daily, own outcomes from first commit to last alert, and raise the technical bar for the entire engineering organization.

This role is on-site in Berlin.

Responsibilities

SHAPE THE PRODUCT THAT TRANSFORMS EUROPE’S HEALTHCARE OPERATIONS

• Design and ship AI-powered workflow automations that give medical staff hours back every day
• Build intelligent agents that turn Luna from an AI receptionist into a full AI-based employee for medical practices
• Engineer deep, reliable integrations into practice management systems - unlocking capabilities no competitor can match

ARCHITECT A PLATFORM BUILT FOR MASSIVE SCALE

• Design infrastructure on AWS and GCP that can serve hundreds of thousands of practices with high availability and low latency
• Own the full reliability lifecycle: observability, alerting, incident response, and postmortems that eliminate entire failure classes
• Build CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling that make shipping fast, safe, and repeatable

Requirements

• You've shipped and operated real products used by real customers, and you know what it takes to keep them running
• You communicate with clarity and collaborate naturally in high-tempo, low-hierarchy teams
• You architect and build production-grade software with confidence - from system design to shipping and operating at scale
• You have several years of experience in startups
• You’re excited to work on-site in Berlin in a fast-moving environment in build-mode

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Experience with TypeScript, Python, or Rust
• Hands-on experience building AI agents or LLM-powered products
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, CI/CD systems, or infrastructure-as-code
• Track record of building complex third-party integrations
• Exposure to healthcare workflows or regulated environments

LOCATION & COMPENSATION

• Location: Berlin (100% on-site)
• Competitive compensation: €100,000–€130,000 total compensation (cash + equity)
