The following applies to all profiles
- You are commercially driven, with a clear sense of deal structure, pricing and customer benefits
- Confident at senior level: e.g. trade marketing decision-makers, brand directors
- Structured in pipeline maintenance and forecasting
- You can argue with data and are not afraid of AI tools and new workflows
- Speak German and English fluently
Why this role?
You love doing things successfully. You use our tried-and-tested marketing machine and products that are well-known on the market, with which you win deals.
- Real ownership: your pipeline, your customers, your sales
- Direct access to CSO and CEO at strategic customers
- A product that can do more than just sell activation: visibility, reach and measurable impact until purchase
- AI-powered tools and workflows that multiply your productivity
If you like existing playbooks that you keep optimizing, this is the right role.
Responsibilities
- Build, develop, prioritize and manage your own pipeline with reliable forecasts
- Acquire new customers and stakeholders (horizontally and vertically) and develop customers into recurring partners
- Expand existing customers to high, recurring volumes
Responsible for the entire sales cycle: initial contact, qualification, needs analysis, offer, negotiation and conclusion. Once completed, it is handed over to the AdOps team
- Translate customer goals into activation concepts: touchpoints, reach, target groups, mechanics (cashback, free trial, category triggers), measurement approach
- Feed feedback from the market into product, pitch material and go-to-market
- This is how the role is set up
- You are an individual contributor with no personnel responsibility
- You report directly to the Head of Key Account Management
- You sell independently, but not alone: Inside Sales supports processing, Ad Operations controls delivery, data science provides proof of effectiveness
- Your focus is commercial: pipeline, closing, customer depth, rebooking
Requirements
You are a good fit for us if you come from one of the following backgrounds and have at least 3 years of experience:
Profile 1: FMCG Trade Marketing / CM Side. You have experience in trade marketing, category management, shopper marketing, or brand marketing on the manufacturer side. You know release logic, annual reviews, activation mechanics and the reality at the point of sale. You want to switch to the sell side and have the confidence to conclude deals independently.
Profile 2: Promotional, couponing, cashback and sampling marketers (acardo competitors). Market guru, reebate, sampling/product testing provider, classic sales promotion service provider. So far, you're talking to the same buyers, with the same budget, and the same mechanics (cashback, free trial, category triggers), and you bring existing contacts directly into the right buying center.
- Profile 3: Sales Data / Market Measurement Sales. You come from sales at NielsenIQ, Circana, IRI, GfK or similar data or insights providers, where you sold the closed loop and sales lift pitch to category management.
- That's why you master the language "sales / proof of impact / category relevance" - exactly the heart of our promise.
- Profile 4: Loyalty/CRM/Couponing platforms selling into FMCG trade budgets. Your home was previously with Payback, DeutschlandCard and similar CRM providers. Your sphere of activity was coupon mechanics plus data, sold to trade marketing. This means you bring relevant customer contacts with you.

Learn more at verve.com. About Verve Retail Media
The lack of proof of effectiveness is the biggest problem for advertisers in stationary retail. Even though brands invest millions in point-of-sale advertising, they can't prove whether it results in purchases.
Verve Retail Media (VRM) solves this problem. We market and operate digital advertising screens in several thousand food retail, drugstore and convenience locations and connect them with digital coupons, retargeting on CTV and other offsite channels. Brands don't book isolated advertising formats with us, but rather 360-degree campaigns that start at home and reach the shopping shelf - a closed-loop measurement based on real checkout data.
VRM is the independent retail media unit of the listed Verve Group SE. We work like a rapidly scaling startup with an AI-first strategy across all functions and with access to the infrastructure of an international AdTech company with over a trillion ad impressions delivered per year. The couponing and cashback specialist acardo has recently joined Verve Retail Media.
The role in one sentence
You have a hunter mentality within you and win new sales with FMCG brands by selling integrated shopper activation campaigns: i.e. coupon-driven conversion and measurable sales lift, ideally enhanced by screen presence in the market.
What you sell
The activation of shoppers at the point of sale (via coupons, cashback and other activation methods), expanded to include digital visibility in the market (screens at the entrance, area, checkout) and closed-loop measurement based on real checkout data, sometimes also detached coupon or cashback measures
- Campaigns that drive more sales and category relevance
- Concrete proof points from many thousands of acardo campaigns
- Who you sell to
- Directly to FMCG brands
- The contact persons usually come from trade marketing or category management
Additional Information
Send your CV together with a short work sample (max. 1 page). Choose a real-world situation: winning a deal against odds, building a customer relationship from scratch, a new concept with measurable results, or a commercial problem you solved. What we want to understand:
What was the problem? Not the context. The actual problem.
What have you done? Not the team. What did you decide, build or change?
What was the measurable result? Sales, conversion, customer loyalty. Be specific.
What would you do differently today?
Write it like a memo your CEO can read in 3 minutes. Without filling material. The work sample replaces the cover letter.
