As part of the development of our activities in French-speaking Switzerland, we wish to strengthen our presence in Geneva.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with solid experience in the Swiss construction and real estate market. You will be responsible for managing complex projects in the office, retail and industrial sectors, from the design phases through to delivery.

As the client's preferred contact, you will be responsible for the proper execution of projects and will guarantee compliance with objectives in terms of costs, deadlines, quality and risks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure overall project management, particularly in terms of costs, planning, budget, quality and risks.
  • Represent the client's interests throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manage general contractors, total contractors, suppliers, agents and directly engaged consultants.
  • Develop, analyze and track project schedules and key milestones.
  • Identify critical activities, anticipate possible deviations and implement the necessary corrective actions to avoid any delays.
  • Organize and lead meetings with clients, project teams, businesses and other stakeholders.
  • Guarantee an efficient and structured flow of information between the project team and the client, through regular meetings, progress reports and written communications.
  • Identify and analyze factors likely to influence construction costs.
  • Ensure financial monitoring of projects and produce clear, reliable and regular reports.
  • Advise and support technical or engineering decisions having an impact on costs, budget or planning.
  • Evaluate the financial and operational consequences of design changes occurring during the construction phase.
  • Examine payment requests, work situations and supporting documents sent by companies.
  • Identify, document and follow up on any event likely to give rise to a claim, a request for an extension of time or a dispute.
  • Contribute to the management of changes, amendments and contractual complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual commitments and objectives defined with the client.
  • Ensure rigorous monitoring of the decisions, actions and responsibilities of each stakeholder.
  • Provide the client with a clear vision of the progress of the project, the risks, the necessary trade-offs and the next steps.

Requirements

  • You have at least 10 years of experience in managing construction or real estate projects.
  • You must have at least 5 years of professional experience in Switzerland, including recent experience on the Swiss market.
  • You are currently based in Lausanne or its region.
  • You have an excellent understanding of the Swiss construction market, its practices, its players and its contractual environment.
  • You have proven experience in the delivery of office, retail and/or industrial building projects.
  • Experience acquired within a General Company in Switzerland is an important asset.
  • You master the management of costs, budgets, deadlines, risks and stakeholders.
  • You are comfortable managing complex and multidisciplinary projects.
  • You have strong negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • You know how to establish a relationship of trust with clients, consultants, companies and external partners.
  • You are recognized for your autonomy, your rigor, your capacity for anticipation and your sense of responsibility.
  • You are results-oriented and know how to make decisions in demanding environments.
