- Ruby on Rails Developer – Remote | U.S. Hours

At Pavago , one of our clients is hiring a Ruby on Rails Developer to build, maintain, and scale modern web applications and APIs.
- This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on:
- Ruby on Rails development
- Backend systems and REST APIs
- PostgreSQL / MySQL
- Background jobs with Sidekiq or Resque
- Application performance and scalability
- Testing and code quality
- Third-party integrations
- Production reliability
You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to ship secure, scalable, and maintainable features.

Develop backend functionality using
- Ruby
- Rails
- ActiveRecord
- MVC architecture
- Design and maintain RESTful APIs
- Build and manage background jobs using Sidekiq or Resque
- Integrate third-party APIs and external services
- Collaborate with frontend engineers working with React, Vue.js, or Stimulus
- Database Design & Performance
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL and/or MySQL databases
- Create and manage database migrations
- Optimize database queries and application performance
Implement
- Indexing

Write and maintain

Work with testing frameworks such as

Implement authentication and authorization using tools such as

- Maintain secure handling of application and customer data

Optimize
- Page load times

Monitor application health using tools such as

- Troubleshoot production issues and deploy fixes efficiently
- Help maintain high application availability and reliability
- Engineering Collaboration

3+ years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience
Strong proficiency with
