On its site located in Villeurbanne (France), the Grid Solutions activity designs, tests and manufactures high-voltage circuit breakers intended for its national and international customers.

To support a strong growth market driven by the energy transition and the development of low-carbon electricity networks, the electrification branch of GE Vernova is investing massively in the development of new products.

Within the Research & Development Center for high-voltage equipment and in collaboration with the project teams, your missions will initially be structured around the following main axes and in order of priorities:

  • Carry out multiphysics numerical simulations

You will contribute to equipment sizing and optimization studies using simulation tools.

  • Carry out mechanical, thermal, electrostatic and fluid mechanics (CFD) simulations
  • Participate in the analysis and interpretation of results
  • Contribute to the improvement of simulation methods and tools
  • Participate in the development and automation of certain calculation tools
  • Document the studies carried out and share the results with the teams
  • Participate in product testing and validation

You will contribute to the qualification and validation of new equipment.

  • Participate in the preparation and monitoring of laboratory tests
  • Contribute to the assembly and expertise of prototypes
  • Analyze the results obtained
  • Identify areas for improvement when necessary
  • Write technical reports and associated test sheets
  • Contribute to the design of new products

Responsibilities

In conjunction with experienced engineers and project teams

  • Participate in design and sizing studies
  • Contribute to the development of new technical solutions
  • Ensure technical monitoring of the studies entrusted
  • Participate in the writing of technical documentation

Profile sought

  • Education: Engineering degree with a specialization in: Electrical engineering / Electrotechnics

Technical skills required

  • Solid foundations in electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of energy, thermodynamics or fluid mechanics
  • First academic or professional experience in digital simulation
  • Appetite for programming and solving complex technical problems
