Responsibilities
- You manage the entire transaction cycle - from identifying and qualifying new opportunities through negotiation and further development to the successful completion of transactions.
- Together with the corporate development team, you identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets.
- You proactively identify new acquisition opportunities, arrange qualified meetings and further develop potential target companies along the M&A pipeline - from the initial contact to the signing of the transaction.
- Building and maintaining long-term, trusting relationships with existing and potential acquisition targets is one of your central tasks - through personal meetings, telephone conversations and email communication.
- You carefully and accurately document activities, opportunities and relevant information in Salesforce (CRM).
- You specifically identify and attend relevant conferences and industry events. In addition, you organize roadshows to generate leads and strengthen relationships with potential target companies.
- Together with the M&A team, you will support financial modeling, due diligence and negotiations and confidently manage the process until the transaction is successfully completed.
- You will develop well-founded investment theses based on your analyzes and present your recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- You will clearly and convincingly communicate Harris' investment philosophy, strategy and value proposition to potential acquisition targets.
- You ensure that every acquisition process is managed professionally and efficiently and that the focus is always on building trusting relationships.
- Regular travel within Germany and the DACH region and increasingly within Europe will be part of your role, depending on your needs.
This is what you bring with you
- You have several years of relevant professional experience in the areas of M&A, financial due diligence, corporate development, business development, investment management, finance, general management or a related area.
- You combine experience in managing or supporting M&A transactions with a genuine interest in the company beyond the actual transaction.
- You have experience in operational management, for example as a general manager or in a senior management role in an operational (software) company. In the future, you may also be entrusted with managing companies in Germany, the DACH region and â with our further growth â throughout Europe.
- You have strong skills in financial modeling, analysis and commercial valuation.
- In business development, you bring proven skills including lead generation, qualifying business opportunities and relationship building.
- Experience in the software industry, particularly in the public sector, security, healthcare or utilities sectors, is required for this position.
Building long-term relationships is one of your strengths. You communicate confidently and effectively with C-level executives and company owners. You place particular value on personal relationships, which you build through regular face-to-face meetings and not exclusively through remote conversations and emails.
- You impress with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills help you manage multiple acquisition processes and projects simultaneously.
- You are characterized by a proactive, self-motivated and independent way of working.
- You have business fluent German and English skills. Knowledge of French is an advantage, but not required.
- You have the necessary willingness and ability to travel regularly.

The Harris International Group is looking for you as an experienced portfolio manager to drive the further growth of the portfolio through strategic acquisitions together with the DACH Portfolio Leader. You are responsible for the entire transaction process - from identifying potential new acquisition targets to the successful completion of the transactions.
In your role as Portfolio Manager, you report to the DACH Portfolio Leader and are responsible for the search, identification and evaluation of potential acquisition targets, the establishment of long-term relationships and their further development until the successful completion of the transaction. The focus is on software companies in the public sector, security, healthcare and utilities sectors in the DACH region.
The position covers the entire transaction cycle, including building sustainable relationships with target companies, proactively identifying new opportunities, financial modeling, due diligence, transaction management and developing appropriate transaction structures.
You are naturally curious, think entrepreneurially and are enthusiastic about investments and the further development of companies. You combine strong financial and analytical skills with proven experience in business development, relationship management and operational leadership. Experience in at least one of the public sector, security, healthcare or utilities sectors is essential. You ideally complement your transaction experience with experience in operational leadership and management of software companies.
You can perform this remote position from your place of residence within Germany. Willingness to travel regularly is required
