Role Summary
Job Description Summary
At GE Vernova, employees have a major challenge to overcome: building a better world.
We are currently looking for a metallurgy technician (Non-Destructive Testing - NDT) for our Sorel-Tracy factory which manufactures turbines for Hydro-Electric Power Plants.
Responsibilities
- Write specific instructions relating to welding, including stopping points;
- Carry out inspection of parts during production and ensure compliance with established standards by carrying out non-destructive tests according to codes and standards;
- Develop inspection instructions and non-destructive testing procedures according to codes and standards;
- Develop and maintain standards and statistics collected during manufacturing and also make modifications requested by production;
- Calibrate the instruments, control the calibration program and ensure that the instruments are maintained in good condition;
- Using drawings and ranges, develop self-check sheets, inspection and test plans, inspection status sheets and inspection reports;
- Provide technical assistance to production employees;
- Prepare manufacturing files (drawings, ranges, list of materials, control sheets) etc.
Requirements
Training
- DEC/AEC in metallurgical processes: mechanically welded option or quality control option.
Personal skills
- Have a strong ability to work in a team, be versatile and have a sense of initiative.
Availability
- Be available to work days, evenings, nights or weekends and overtime if necessary.
Asset
- Hold the following skill cards: Visual (level 2), Penetrating (level 2), Magnetic Particles (level 2); Ultrasound (level 2) and Radiography.
