The Key Account Manager on our Chromatography consumable range for the food industry is responsible for maintaining and managing a portfolio of key accounts in a given territory, providing advanced services and technical support to customers.

This position reports to the District Sales Manager and is part of the Phenomenex France team covering clients in half of France (Grand Est, Bourgogne Franche Comté, Auvergne Rhône Alpes, Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur).

You will be located remotely in this region so as to be optimally and centrally located to cover this sector.

In this role of Key Account Manager on our range of Chromatography consumables for the food industry, you will have the opportunity to:

Coordinate customer visits to provide technical information, product demonstrations and/or technical seminars; participate in local supplier shows and company-sponsored shows

  • Develop account relationships beyond the purchasing level to engage key decision-makers with existing and potential customers
  • Ensure the achievement of sales, gross margin and volume objectives in the assigned territory
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop business plans and commercial strategies for key accounts
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and act as a resource for colleagues, particularly through coaching, mentoring and training

Requirements

Essential job requirements include

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or other related scientific discipline required
  • Successful business experience in a similar field for the food industry
  • Ability to strategically plan, organize and allocate resources to meet business needs
  • Advanced knowledge of sales principles and negotiation methods, with demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities
  • Good knowledge of chromatography
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English

Travel, driving license and physical/environmental requirements

  • Availability and willingness to travel (up to 60%) depending on the needs of the territory
  • Valid driver's license required
  • It would be a plus if you also have:
  • Experience in the food and/or environmental industry
  • Practical laboratory experience in chromatography, including HPLC
  • A proven track record of success in sales or customer service roles
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software desired
