Job description

Salary:
EUR 45,000 per year
Location:
Berlin, Germany
Work arrangement:
On-site

Role Summary

It all started seven years ago as an ambitious idea. Today we are the market leader for graduation newspapers in Germany. Every year, more than two thirds of all German graduating classes use the nuggit app to design their graduation newspaper and their graduation textiles and thus create a memory of a time together that lasts.

Our mission: Through digital innovation and personal customer contact, we are the reliable partner for students on their very first big project. To do this, we constantly question the status quo and develop new, creative solutions.

We are a small team with a very large reach. As a graphic designer (m/f/d) you are responsible for our operational design: print, textile and the assets that go out every day. This means short distances, direct visibility of your work and a lot of responsibility. But it also means that you have to work independently and prioritize. If necessary, we work with external experts for specific projects.

Responsibilities

  • Print: You design graduation newspapers for over two thirds of all schools in Germany, thereby setting the quality benchmark for the entire market.
  • Textile: We are currently rebuilding our textile business. You design collections, prints and motifs and shape what nuggit looks like on hoodies and shirts.
  • Templates and templates: You further develop the design templates that tens of thousands of students use to design themselves in the nuggit app. Clean and production-safe.
  • Product: Together with our product team, you will improve the layout and design options within the app and bring the design perspective exactly where our users work.
  • Internationalization: We are preparing to move beyond Germany. You think about layouts in such a way that they also work in other markets.

This is how we work

  • Figma is our home. We work with our own internal setup, which we will train you in. If you work in a structured manner instead of reinventing each file, you will immediately feel at home here. We'll show you what this actually looks like for us in the process.
  • AI doesn't replace you, it leverages your work. We actively use AI in the design process: for ideation, variants and the automation of recurring steps. You don't have to be a prompt pro, but you should be interested in finding out what it's all about.
  • Personal initiative is mandatory, not a bonus. You get goals and context, you design the path yourself. Nobody gives you tickets and nobody pushes you.

Hybrid, honestly speaking. Our new office is located in Mindspace at Uhlandstraße 32, directly on the Kudamm and well connected, with all the amenities of a coworking space. You can use all other Mindspace locations temporarily. Home office and mobile working are of course possible as long as the result is right.

Requirements

  • You have already gained professional experience as a graphic designer. We're less interested in whether that's two years or five than what you can show.
  • You work safely in Figma and keep your files so that others can also work with them.
  • You have a solid understanding of prepress and print production. Textile experience is a plus, but not a must.
  • You are curious about AI in the design workflow and like to try it out instead of waiting.
  • You organize yourself and prioritize independently. Working in an environment without a fixed design hierarchy excites you rather than unsettles you.
  • You deliver reliably, even when a lot is going on at the same time. Our season has clear peaks.
  • Creative, critical and solution-oriented thinking is standard for you.
  • You speak German fluently. This is a requirement for us because our target group and a large part of our designs are German-speaking. Good English is a plus.
  • You have a proactive attitude and enjoy working closely with other teams.

Benefits

  • See your designs printed, shipped and worn over 200,000 times each year
  • Diverse projects from print to textile to app layout
  • A small team that takes design seriously and is always open to new creative ideas
  • Collaborate with external experts when a project needs it
  • Full access to modern AI tools and the time to get really good at it
  • Short paths and open ears: We send ideas directly to the decision-maker, without any intermediate levels

There is no such thing as the perfect applicant.

We look forward to receiving your application, even if you do not (yet) meet the requirements 100%, but you are motivated to acquire the necessary skills. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, regardless of gender identity, religion, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, migration history, age or limitations.
