Field Service Engineer (Talent Bank) at Hitachi Energy in São Paulo, Brazil.

Role Summary

Carry out field engineering activities in O&M services for High, Medium and Low Voltage electrical energy substations, as well as providing technical support and leadership in the services of designated teams, including inspection and maintenance routines, complying with standard procedures, quality, health, work safety and environmental requirements, as well as ensuring the company's image, aiming for the continuity of energy supply and delivery of contracted services, within the quality standards required by the company, regulatory bodies and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support in the field to identify technical problems and define corrective actions in your area of expertise in several categories: installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, updates, renovations and replacements, among others, meeting customer expectations and pre-established internal procedures.
  • Execute activities according to established planning and requests received, maintaining a good relationship with customers and understanding their needs, as well as identifying new business opportunities and forwarding them internally to the necessary procedures and meeting demands, contributing to customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the materials, tools, parts and other items required for maintenance services, whether performed internally or externally, are available and organized to carry out the work.
  • Prepare technical documentation for the execution of the service, reporting specifications and quantity of materials used (parts replaced, hours spent and other information regarding opportunities for improvements in the company's products), activities carried out in relation to project planning, according to procedures, making them available to the business areas.
  • Identify and suggest actions to management to improve the quality of services, contributing to efficiency, work productivity and greater customer satisfaction, through field observations, enabling the identification of process improvements and updates to work instructions and internal procedures, as well as understanding the root cause (systemic view) of problems in company equipment installed at customers, reporting details of occurrences, through specific forms.
  • Provide specialized technical support to the Services teams, contributing to the planning of activities and solutions, as well as monitoring results.
  • Prepare checklists, manuals and other documents relevant to field service and commissioning activities.
  • Inform hierarchical and project managers about the progress of activities in the field and highlight opportunities/mitigate risks.
  • Carry out activities in accordance with the occupational safety policy - OHS - defined by the company and formalize the completion of work with the client, as well as deliver backups/documents after completion of commissioning to the project managers.
  • Keep operating manuals, instructions, substation documents and NR-10 records updated, ensuring the integrity of the installations.
  • Control the quality of instruments used in field services, checking their condition, need for maintenance, measurement and replacement.

Requirements

  • Completed higher education preferably in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience working in companies in the energy sector
  • Desirable technical knowledge: Substation arrangements, substation protection and control schemes, supervisory systems, communication protocols and tests of integrated systems.
  • Intermediate/advanced English
  • Availability to work on a client site
