Export Specialist

Responsibilities

• Management and commercial development: Prospect, negotiate and directly monitor major distributor accounts, covering the major cities of Libya; Tripoli, Misrata and Benghazi
• Technical advice and recommendations: Analyze project specifications (e.g. anti-acid floor coverings for the food industry, concrete protection or fire protection for the oil sector) and recommend suitable chemical solutions.
• Intensive field trips: Ensure a continuous physical presence with clients, involving spending more than 50% of your working time in Libya to monitor projects.
• Technical assistance on site: Supervise the testing or application phases of chemical products on industrial sites to ensure their proper implementation.
• Logistics and customs management: Coordinate the flow of goods and the export documentary package (Incoterms, documentary credits) between Tunisia and Libya, by controlling specific cross-border formalities (inspections, certificates of conformity).
• Monitoring of payments and risks: Secure international financial transactions, paying strict attention to payment terms and recovery in the Libyan zone.

Requirements

• Experience: 5 to 7 years of technical-commercial experience, necessarily in the sector of chemical products for construction or technical industrial supply.
• Sector expertise: In-depth knowledge of regulatory, hygiene and safety requirements specific to the Food & Beverage (HACCP standards, chemical resistance) and Oil & Gas (ATEX standards, harsh environments) industries.
• Technical skills: Mastery of complex B2B sales techniques (long cycles, technical/engineering contacts) and the fundamentals of foreign trade (Incoterms, regional road/maritime logistics).
• Soft Skills: Strong autonomy, resilience, intercultural adaptability, keen sense of diplomacy and excellent stress management in a complex industrial environment.
• Languages: French and Arabic (proficiency in Tunisian and Libyan Arabic is essential for the field) fluent. Technical English required for exchanges with multinationals and specification grids.
