Environmental Engineer – Construction Supervision in Santarém

Role Summary

As part of strengthening our team, we are looking for an Environmental Engineer to join a project in the Santarém area, with an expected duration of 3 years, with the possibility of extending up to 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Assuming management of the Environment area in the inspection team;
• Ensure environmental control on site, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual requirements;
• Prepare technical reports, environmental management plans and supporting documentation;
• Identify and propose preventive and corrective measures to mitigate environmental impacts;
• Monitor internal and external environmental audits and inspections;
• Collaborate with project teams and contractors in implementing good environmental practices;
• Promote environmental awareness among construction teams;

Participate in meetings with different stakeholders.

Requirements

Training and experience

• Higher education in Environmental Engineering (preferred), Civil Engineering or equivalent field;
• Minimum experience of 3 years as Environmental Manager;
• Training in the ISO 14001 standard (mandatory).

Technical skills

• Solid knowledge of technical standards and sector regulations;
• Knowledge of good environmental management practices in the construction sector;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel);
• Knowledge of construction management software (MS Project, AutoCAD);

Proficiency in English.
