Embedded Functional Test Engineer (Railway)

Role Summary

The Functional Test Engineer is responsible for guaranteeing the conformity, quality and reliability of hardware and software solutions in a railway environment. He is involved in the definition, execution and monitoring of validation activities to ensure complete coverage of functional requirements and traceability of test results.

Responsibilities

• Test Analysis and Specification
• Define validation strategies and plans.
• Write and maintain test scenarios and cases based on functional requirements.
• Carry out impact analyzes and ensure requirements are covered.
• Develop and update test specifications.
• Produce and validate associated test documentation.
• Traceability and Requirements Management
• Ensure 100% coverage of requirements and tests executed.
• Maintain traceability matrices and UVR documents.
• Guarantee consistency between requirements, test cases and results.
• Define validation strategies for special or partial cases.

Execution and Validation

• Carry out functional test campaigns on simulator, test bench, TrainLab or train.
• Test software and hardware developments.
• Analyze, diagnose and document detected anomalies.
• Write validation reports and follow up on correction requests.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of testing and validation processes.

Requirements

Technical skills

• Proven experience in functional testing, validation or quality assurance.
• Mastery of testing methodologies: compliance, integration, system and validation.
• Knowledge of test and anomaly management tools: ControlBuild, ClearQuest, Jira.
• Proficiency in simulation and diagnostic tools such as E3.Series, TraceView, VNC Viewer, BitVise, Diagnostic Editor or equivalent.
• Ability to write technical specifications and test reports.
• Knowledge of configuration management processes and industry standards, ideally in the rail sector.

Profile sought

• Engineering degree (Bac+5) in Electronics, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Automation or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in functional testing, validation or quality assurance, ideally in an industrial or railway environment.
• Languages
• Fluent French.
• Technical English.
