Cloud System Engineer

Role Summary

As a (Cloud) System Engineer you play a crucial role in designing, implementing and managing secure, compliant and optimized cloud solutions. You will use your skills in virtualization, containerization and orchestration with tools such as Kubernetes and Docker. You are comfortable with cloud-native development, serverless architectures and DevOps practices to drive innovation and efficiency within cloud environments.

Your responsibilities include automating and maintaining systems, developing scripts to optimize infrastructure, and aligning cloud platforms with business objectives. You will use your expertise in Azure (or AWS), automation frameworks, networking and security to support digital transformation and build reliable, cost-efficient systems.

You will perform system administration tasks such as installation, configuration, troubleshooting and monitoring, as well as installing upgrades, updates and patches on both on-premise and cloud platforms. In addition, you design, implement and support scalable cloud or hybrid platform solutions, streamline deployment processes, reduce manual interventions and ensure optimal functioning of our systems through analytical thinking, governance skills, problem-solving skills and collaboration with other teams.

You have knowledge and experience in the following

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a relevant equivalent

5 years of experience in infrastructure projects

• Experience with Cloud services such as Microsoft Azure, AzureAD, EMS, Office365, AWS etc.
• Broad knowledge of networks, system and architectures, storage concepts, virtualization, containers, automation, Microsoft Azure, Office 365, security and management
• Scripting and automation: Powershell, VBScript, Bash, Ansible etc.
• Experience with methodologies such as project management, ITIL, etc. or willingness to become certified
• Fluent in English and Dutch/French
