Job Overview
Job description
- Location:
- Linz, Upper Austria, Austria
- Work arrangement:
- On-site
Role Summary
As a senior backend developer, help shape the digital transformation in the manufacturing industry! In an agile team, you will develop comprehensive web applications for process optimization in Bosch production plants - used directly by operators on the production line.
You make and support architectural decisions and are responsible for the conception and implementation of modern web applications based on .NET (ASP.NET Core, EF Core, Clean Architecture) in the backend and Angular (TypeScript, Signals, Smart/Dumb Component Pattern) in the frontend. For us, “Architecture-First” is a binding gate, not a recommendation.
You work according to the design-first principle: APIs are designed and reviewed as an OpenAPI specification before the first line of code is created. On the frontend, you consume these APIs and convert designs into modular, maintainable Angular components.
You ensure code quality through test-driven development (TDD), code reviews and an automated CI/CD pipeline with strict quality gates.
You implement sophisticated software projects in the production and IT environment in close coordination with international experts and support them throughout the entire software life cycle.
You actively promote the further development of the team by sharing your knowledge while gaining deep insights into manufacturing processes, MES systems and industrial quality assurance.
Requirements
- Personality and way of working: You are a passionate team player with a passion for high-quality, testable and maintainable backend systems. Well-thought-out architecture, clean code and domain-driven design are lived practice for you.
- Experience and know-how: You have several years of professional experience in backend development with C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core).
- You confidently design services and REST APIs according to the design-first principle and are familiar with clean architecture and domain-driven design (DDD).
- You work routinely with Entity Framework Core, relational databases (MS SQL Server) and professional Git workflows.
- For you, Test-Driven Development (TDD) is an integral part of development and you are experienced in dealing with CI/CD pipelines.
- Enthusiasm: Ideally, you are enthusiastic about container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift) or authentication protocols (Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth2, OIDC). Interest in manufacturing systems (MES) or industrial processes is a clear plus.
- Education: You have completed a relevant HTL training with several years of professional experience or have completed a degree in computer science, software engineering or a comparable field.
- Languages: You speak German and English fluently.
- Do you have questions about the application process?
