Role Summary

Act as a fully qualified Lead Auditor, with consolidated practical experience in the FSSC 22000 scheme.

Prepare and execute the audit plan, including sampling, process walkthroughs and traceability (mass balance when applicable).

Evaluate compliance with the ISO 22000 standard, the applicable PRPs and the Additional FSSC Requirements (for example: food defense, food fraud, allergen management, service management, environmental monitoring when applicable and food safety culture).

Collect and record evidence, write non-conformities and observations objectively and in accordance with the rules of the scheme. Prepare and review reports, certification recommendations and records in the certification body's system within established deadlines.

Evaluate the client's corrective actions (correction, cause and effectiveness) and support internal technical decisions when required.

Comply with the requirements of impartiality, independence and confidentiality; follow the procedures of the certification body and the requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO 22003-1.

Keep qualification up to date (FSSC scheme changes, regulatory documents and accreditation requirements).

Requirements

  • University education in a related area (Food, Chemistry, Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Agronomy, Pharmacy, Engineering or related) or duly proven equivalent experience.
  • Solid experience in food safety (FSMS/HACCP/quality/production) in organizations relevant to categories C0, CI, CII, CIII, CIV and I.
  • Qualification as FSSC 22000 Auditor.
  • Knowledge and practical application of: ISO 22000 (risk-based approach, OPRP/CCP, validation and verification, change management and communication).
  • PRP of the audited sector (for example ISO/TS 22002-1 for food manufacturing, where applicable). FSSC Additional Requirements (current version).
  • Proven ability to conduct audits with independence, good judgment, professional posture, and appropriate technical report writing.
  • Availability for frequent trips (regional/national) and carrying out in-person audits. Management of computer tools (Office/Google package) and use of management and auditing systems.

Desirable requirements (differentials)

  • Previous experience as a third-party auditor (certification) in schemes recognized by the GFSI.
  • Training in food defense, food fraud, allergen management, traceability/recall and supplier audit.
  • Experience in complex and/or multisite audits.
