Role Summary

  • Location: Ribbleton Clinic, Preston
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hourly Rate: £24.00–£27.50 per hour
  • Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time (37.5 hours per week or part-time equivalent)
  • Contract Duration: 3 months

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join a community-based Adult Speech and Language Therapy team in Preston. Based at Ribbleton Clinic, this locum opportunity offers both full-time and part-time working options for an initial three-month contract.

The successful candidate will provide specialist assessment and intervention for adults presenting with communication and swallowing difficulties. This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist with dysphagia competencies and community experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Deliver specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Manage a varied community caseload, providing evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Undertake dysphagia assessments and management in line with professional competencies and national guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to support patient rehabilitation and ongoing care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records in accordance with HCPC and local service standards.
  • Contribute to service development and participate in team meetings as required.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • Previous experience working at Band 6 level within an adult community setting.
  • Dysphagia competencies and experience managing adults with swallowing disorders.
  • Experience assessing and treating adults with communication difficulties.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.
