On its site located in Villeurbanne (France), the Grid Solutions activity designs, tests and manufactures high-voltage circuit breakers intended for its national and international customers.
To support a strong growth market driven by the energy transition and the development of low-carbon electricity networks, the electrification branch of GE Vernova is investing massively in the development of new technologies and new products.
The position is attached to the Research & Development Center for high-voltage equipment.
He/she will join a team of engineers and technicians as part of a development project aimed at designing high-performance products to expand our catalog of solutions and access new markets linked to the energy transition in Europe and the USA.
Job Context
As part of the operation of the CERDA test laboratories, the workshop fitter is a versatile and field collaborator.
He carries out the assembly/disassembly operations of the test circuits, participates in gas treatment and carries out mechanical maintenance operations on CERDA equipment.
He works closely with station managers, laboratories and technical teams.
Your main missions
- Safety and EHS requirements
- Carry out a VAP before each intervention on any equipment likely to be under pressure and ensure systematic pressure labeling
- Check slings, stepladders and lifting tools before each use
- Report any deviations (tools, machines, 5S, behaviors, etc.) and propose improvement actions
- Apply the stop work principle in the event of a non-standard situation
- Alert the manager and the EHS department if an additional risk analysis is necessary
- Be a security player and force of proposal
- Assembly and disassembly of test circuits
- Carry out the installation and removal of testing devices and laboratory equipment according to instructions
- Make the connections to the test circuits while respecting the installation rules
- Work in coordination with station and laboratory managers
- Maintenance of testing equipment
- Perform maintenance on equipment according to operating methods
- Define operating methods independently if non-existent (old equipment)
- Diagnose the condition of sub-assemblies and wearing parts during disassembly
- Carry out repair operations (replacement of parts, cleaning, verification)
- Identify the parts to be relaunched to guarantee the continuity of the tests
- Participate in the final inspection after assembly (measurements, circuit breaker mechanical time, etc.)
- Install the equipment in the station for commissioning
- Report malfunctions and suggest improvements
- Update documentation (monitoring sheets, labeling, standards, etc.)
- Support for gas activities
- Carry out, under supervision, gas fillings and recoveries (SF6, G3) in the test courses
- Prepare tanks and cans (emptying)
- Participate in the preparation of containers for shipment to subcontractors (TREDI, INVENTEC, SOLVAY, etc.)
- Contribute to the maintenance of gas equipment and ESP preparations under the supervision of the gas technician
- Continuous improvement
- Participate in specific test preparation meetings
- Propose optimizations on assembly and intervention times
- Participate in 5S projects and improvement actions with the team
Profile sought
Training & experience
- Professional baccalaureate in maintenance, electromechanics or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial environment (maintenance, construction site, testing, etc.)
- Experience in mechanical maintenance of equipment
- Knowledge of high voltage equipment, ideally old ranges (AVP, FX, FL...
)
