Job description

Your mission
syte uses complex algorithms that calculate building metrics based on 3D point clouds and 3D models. Typical examples of relevant metrics include floor area, number of floors, volume and building heights. In order to ensure fast development cycles and to be able to evaluate changes to the algorithms quantitatively and automatically at the push of a button, syte relies on high-quality QA data. In order to systematically expand and harden this data set and thus develop the basis on which our algorithms are measured, we are looking for you as a working student Data QA & Algorithm Benchmarking (m/f/d) in Münster as soon as possible.

Your tasks

Ground Truth Audit: You evaluate the correctness of existing test data and determine new metrics that we can use to evaluate our algorithms.

Hunting edge cases: You determine new test data for difficult buildings (e.g. complex roof shapes, trees above the roofs) and integrate them into the overall data set.

Data sourcing: You identify potential sources for new test data sets and integrate them as automatically as possible.

Benchmarking & Insights: You run our benchmarking pipelines to quantitatively evaluate both the algorithms and the quality of the data. You visualize and communicate the results of these analyzes in an understandable way so that recommendations for action can be derived from them.

Pipeline Engineering: You implement and test improvements in the benchmarking pipelines and the parameters of the algorithms.

Your profile

Your studies: You are studying (geo/business) informatics in a higher bachelor's semester or first master's semester or have a focus on data science/statistics. You also have valid proof of enrollment.

Analytical skills: You like to delve deeply into data and are enthusiastic about statistical analysis of data.

Curiosity about complex data: You enjoy working on and understanding more complex algorithms in a challenging domain.

Ability to work in a team: You work with high quality standards and can coordinate well in a team.

Language skills: You speak fluent German (at least C1) and fluent English (at least B2).

Advantage: You have previous experience in the areas of architecture or PropTech and initial programming experience with Python.

Your starting date and location
