Due to the growth of our AC substation/FACTS area, we are currently looking for a site manager/construction manager for substation projects (all genders) for the “Construction & Commissioning” area to work together on this energy transition.

Your mission: You will lead our activities on the construction site in our 110/400 kV substation projects. You are our on-site representative, are the on-site contact for our customers and coordinate your construction site team as well as our subcontractors for construction and assembly services.

As the person responsible for the construction site activities and their execution, you make a significant contribution to ensuring that the work in the substation is carried out safely, to a high quality, on time and economically.

The role is 100% construction site based.

Responsibilities

Your tasks & responsibilities

• Mobilization: Coordinating the mobilization of construction site personnel together with internal departments and subcontractors, as well as planning the construction site setup
• Occupational safety: Planning & coordination of all work on the construction site in compliance with applicable occupational health, environmental and safety regulations as well as participation in the creation of work and safety instructions. Review of risk assessments & method statements.
• Construction site management: Management of all construction site activities including the management of subcontractors to ensure smooth operations on the construction site.
• Communication: Contact person for our customers and management of construction meetings.
• Control & Reporting: Monitoring quality, costs and deadlines during construction and corresponding reporting to the project management.
• Opportunities & Risks: Identification and management of risks and opportunities related to assembly activities and appropriate reporting to project management.

Requirements

• Completed training in the field of electrical engineering with several years of professional experience, ideally further training to become a technician/master craftsman.
• Experience as a construction manager in substation projects or comparable projects, e.g. oil & gas, power plants, or in the assembly of high-voltage components is desirable
• Strong awareness of Health and Safety (EHS) in accordance with international standards; the ability to identify and stop unsafe work is required.
• Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills, good organizational skills and the ability to report clearly
• Lean Mindset: Open to further training, new tools and improvements
• Willingness to travel on business within Germany and the Netherlands
• Very good knowledge of spoken and written German, knowledge of English is an advantage
• Driving license class B
