Senior Security Architect - OT Product Security

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Security Architect to join our team in collaboration with a major manufacturing client in the Netherlands. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and implementing product security solutions tailored to Operational Technology (OT) environments. This role will operate with a hybrid work model with some travel expected to client sites.

Responsibilities - Design and develop robust product security architectures tailored for OT environments and OT product security, focusing on cloud, IoT and application security

• Engage in requirement gathering and thoroughly analyze proposed product security architecture elements and technologies
• Integrate secure-by-design principles across OT lifecycle stages, including legacy modernization, IoT integration and cloud/edge convergence for industrial systems
• Perform security risk assessments for ICS/SCADA environments and ensure architecture aligns with frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST 800-82 and NIS2
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, infrastructure, development, data and security operations, to ensure the integration of security-by-design principles into the development and operation of products
• Provide strategic and tactical guidance on security architecture to meet emerging business and technology requirements, ensuring alignment with operational security and compliance regulations
• Translate business, compliance and technical requirements into actionable components and controls to strengthen digital and product security postures, ensuring alignment with medical and IT compliance regulations
• Provide architecture governance and strategic guidance to maintain compliance with industrial regulations, sector-specific security baselines and safety standards
• Drive threat modeling, business impact analysis and architectural reviews for OT/ICS solutions. Contribute to incident response planning, forensic readiness and recovery strategies

Requirements - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Automation, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience designing security solutions for ICS/OT environments, with deep understanding of SCADA and industrial networking
• Strong experience implementing OT security controls and architectural standards based on IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISA/IEC 99 or NIST SP 800-82
• Expertise in asset inventory, network traffic monitoring, ICS anomaly detection and access control in OT environments
• Effective communication skills with the capability to lead and manage teams, resolve conflicts and coach team members
• Agile mindset with a continuous quality and process improvement orientation

Nice to have - Certifications such as GICSP, GRID, ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert, CISSP, CSSA

• Experience integrating AI/ML-driven anomaly detection in industrial control systems or supporting AI-enabled predictive maintenance securely
• Knowledge of Zero Trust for OT environments, including ICS-specific identity and access controls
• Exposure to DevSecOps for IoT/edge deployments, with an understanding of secure firmware updates and supply chain risks
• Familiarity with securing smart manufacturing environments (e.g., Industry 4.0 initiatives)
