Role Summary

Reporting Line

Head of Human Risks Management & Due Diligence

The Screening Officer is responsible for conducting professional background checks and employment screenings in accordance with internal procedures, client requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks. This role focuses on CV verification, employment and education checks, and other integrity screenings, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance at all times.

The position is operational and detail-oriented, requiring strong analytical skills, discretion, strong ethics and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Ensure full compliance with

  • Data protection regulations (GDPR or equivalent)
  • Internal information security policies (ISO 27001 aligned)
  • Compliance requirements
  • Handle sensitive personal data with the highest level of confidentiality
  • Follow documented processes for data storage, access control, and retention
  • Client & Internal Coordination
  • Liaise with internal teams to clarify screening requirements
  • Professionally follow up with candidates or third parties for verification purposes
  • Maintain accurate case records and audit trails

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, Criminology or a related field
  • (Relevant experience may compensate for formal education)

1–4 years of experience in

  • Background screening
  • Pre-employment checks
  • HR operations, compliance, or risk-related roles
  • Prior exposure to regulated environments (financial services, luxury, corporate, or consulting) is a strong advantage
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • Excellent written communication skills (clear, factual, neutral tone)
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Good understanding of CV structures, employment practices, and verification methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / case management systems
  • Languages
  • English: Fluent (written and spoken)
  • One Additional languages in French, German, Arabic or Russian is a must

Produce clear, structured, and factual screening.

  • Escalate potential risks or concerns to management when required
