We are looking for a project manager in climate protection technologies and building energy management (m|f|d) as soon as possible to support and work on a publicly funded project.
About the project
The funded project aims to link the traditional metal processing industry in the Bergisches Land with emerging cleantech innovators in order to initiate a transformation process in the area of building energy management for both private and industrially used buildings. The consortium consists of scientific institutes, public institutions and medium-sized manufacturing companies.
FCA is responsible for two sub-projects within the consortium that focus on regional innovators whose approaches can be scaled in a systemic context for building energy needs:
- Thermal storage technology based on Carnot batteries, systemic integration into municipal and industrial use of process heat, space heat and electricity, including consideration of the heating and cooling requirements of buildings.
- Constructive efficiency and modular lightweight construction Development of a new design standard for structural performance taking into account all energy flows and emissions over the entire life cycle (construction, use, demolition, recycling).
Responsibilities
The project manager provides technical and organizational support for the two FCA sub-projects mentioned above and is the central contact person for the corporate partners involved. Essential tasks include:
- Technical and organizational support of the sub-projects “Thermal storage technology based on Carnot batteries” and “Constructive efficiency and modular lightweight construction” in close coordination with the technical partners.
- Technical classification and further development of analyzes for the energetic assessment of buildings (heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water preparation, lighting) as well as for energy management, building on existing, industrially oriented process analyses.
- Preparation of technical interim and final reports under the guidance of the project management, including preparation of technical content for the funding provider.
- Taking on administrative and reporting-related tasks as part of project reporting, in coordination with the operations team.
- Networking established industry with innovative solution approaches from start-ups and other cleantech players in order to initiate investments and follow-up projects even beyond the project duration.
- Coordination with consortium partners from science, public institutions and medium-sized companies.
- Anchoring FCA's mission to close the innovation gaps within the project.
- Occasional trips to consortium meetings and on-site appointments in Remscheid (approx. 2-4 times per year).
required qualifications | expertise
- Completed technical studies, e.g. B. in the field of engineering, energy technology, building technology or comparable qualification.
- Experience in working on and implementing publicly funded projects, ideally including technical reporting to funding agencies.
- Basic understanding of building energy management (heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water preparation, lighting) and ideally knowledge of thermal storage technologies and/or constructive building efficiency.
- Ability to prepare technical content clearly and appropriately in interim and final reports.
- Experience in working with industrial companies, SMEs or scientific partners is an advantage.
- Independent, structured way of working and willingness to take on administrative reporting tasks.
- Very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of spoken and written English.
- Residence in Germany is mandatory, ideally in North Rhine-Westphalia; Otherwise, willingness to make 2-4 business trips per year to Remscheid.
