Role Summary
Do you want to lead digital transformation projects and shape a growing professional environment?
In our department, Digital Advisory, we provide advisory services that help businesses translate their digital ambitions into solutions that are put into use and have a lasting effect. We mainly have two types of assignments: we go in as advisers directly to public actors, and we take the place as a digital professional environment in AFRY's larger construction and infrastructure projects. This combination makes us different from purely digital consultants, as we are on the same assignment as the engineers, architects and project managers who build the physical part of society. We work particularly in health, defence, justice, energy and infrastructure.
We are now hiring three project managers for the Digital Transformation service area. One of you also wants to take on the HR role for a team of consultants in parallel with the project work.
You will join a professional environment that builds its own service portfolio and delivery model within Digital transformation. It's not a ready-made table, but it's an opportunity to help shape a service area in a fast-growing market — if you're the type that builds rather than inherits.
What does the role entail in practice?
You are a project manager or process manager - that is the core of the role. You take responsibility for delivery, progress, finance, risk and communication in digitization and transformation projects, from the early phase to realized gains.
The role is not limited to classic project management. You step in where the assignment requires it, be it as a process manager in strategy work, as a change manager in businesses that will work with data in a new way, or as a senior advisor who translates initiatives into concrete projects with measurable value.
In practice, you work with everything from the implementation of IT systems and data platforms to strategy, transformation projects and profit realization. Many assignments are in the public sector and are part of interdisciplinary deliveries with clear social value.
You will also help develop how we package, deliver and sell our services going forward.
"My best assignments have always required both strict project management and a good understanding of the process — and that's the type of assignment we get here. It's a job where experience and judgment are important, and where you're rarely alone when the going gets tough."
- Kine, change manager
Who do we think you are?
You are an experienced project manager with weight. You have documented experience from real deliveries, you are operationally flexible, and you take the customer and the assignment seriously. You know that good project management in digital transformation is about connecting technology, people and business — and that the best project manager in the room is often the one who sees when a task needs a process manager, change manager or information manager instead of or in addition to a project manager.
We want you to have
- experience with product organisation, product management, service and/or product development
- masters both flexible and traditional methods, and knows which is suitable when
- understanding of program and portfolio management, and management of initiatives in complex organisations
- understanding that digital transformation is as much people, processes and culture as it is technology
- good written and oral communication skills in Norwegian, and is a good relationship builder
- certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, Prosci, SAFe or equivalent are relevant
The way forward: do you also want personnel responsibility?
One of the three we employ wants to take on the role of personnel manager for up to 9 consultants, in parallel with the project work. This means responsibility for follow-up, development, recruitment and well-being. With the role, comes a place in the management team, where you will be able to influence how the section develops. You get time and support to grow into the role. If this isn't you, that's perfectly fine — two of the positions are purely project management roles.

- from the public sector, and familiarity with processes such as administrative and political decision-making processes, procurement, as well as user participation and co-determination
