The Turbine Production Plant in Elbląg has been operating since 1948, and today it operates under the banner of the global concern GE Vernova. It produces complete steam turbines for steam, gas and nuclear power plants. It produces complete steam turbines of various power as well as modules, components and spare parts, using innovative technological solutions.

Thanks to this, steam turbines manufactured by a branch of GE Power sp. z o. o. in Elbląg are sent to power plants around the world.

We are currently implementing a new, unique technology for machining rotor shafts at the factory in Elbląg, which has not yet been seen in our region. Due to this challenge, we are looking for employees who want to create the future of modern energy.

Responsibilities

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Operation of advanced millturn machining centers (precise leveling, mounting and positioning of large-size turbine rotor shafts and their mechanical processing).
  • Selection of tools and optimization of cutting parameters in order to increase efficiency while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Ensuring the highest quality through ongoing control of details in accordance with the documentation and keeping machines and workstations in order.
  • Active participation in the implementation of new cutting technologies and production processes. Cooperation with technologists in the implementation of new programs and machining strategies.
  • Creating simple programs and editing machining programs, with a focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Actively reporting observations regarding health and safety and quality.
  • Active participation in a dedicated training program at a machine manufacturer in Austria.

Requirements

Our expectations

  • Vocational or secondary technical education (mechanical fields preferred).
  • Knowledge of technical drawing.
  • Knowledge of dimensional and geometric tolerances.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate and select machining tools.
  • Basic ability to read and modify an NC program
  • Ability to select and use basic measurement tools and read measurement results.
  • Availability and readiness to work in a 3-shift working time system on all days of the week (equivalent system), in accordance with the Employer's needs.
  • Openness and willingness to learn.
  • Authorization to operate lifting equipment from a working level will be an additional advantage.
