Role Summary

Main Function

The Maintenance Technician III has the responsibility of installing, repairing and maintaining industrial equipment and machinery while continuing to comply with established work schedules. Follows safety regulations, quality standards, and policies and procedures established by the company.

Responsibilities

  1. Install, repair and provide preventive and corrective maintenance to mechanical components of industrial equipment and machinery following the times and schedules established in the department.
  2. Install, repair and provide preventive and corrective maintenance to electrical and electronic components of industrial equipment and machinery following the times and itineraries established by the department.
  3. Install, repair and provide preventive and corrective maintenance to hydraulic and pneumatic components of industrial equipment and machinery following the times and schedules established by the department.
  4. Carry out calibration work on industrial machinery.
  5. Analyze and detect any mechanical situation or malfunction in industrial machinery and production line equipment and carry out the corresponding repairs.
  6. Coordinate work priorities with department personnel and/or your immediate supervisor, ensuring that established work and itineraries are completed.
  7. Ensure the optimal functioning of industrial equipment and machinery in their assigned area on a daily basis.
  8. Interpret plans, drawings, diagrams, and diagrams of industrial equipment and machinery to solve problems and/or defects.
  9. Identify the parts, tools and materials necessary to carry out any repair or preventive maintenance on industrial equipment and/or machinery.
  10. Process purchase requisitions for tools and materials necessary for repairs or preventive maintenance and channel them to the immediate supervisor.
  11. Refer to the immediate supervisor any need for external suppliers in the repairs to industrial equipment and/or machinery.
  12. Keep work areas clean and report unsafe conditions that may affect employee safety.
  13. Comply with established standards and procedures related to health, safety and the environment.
  14. Actively participate in meetings with department personnel with the objective of discussing operational and/or administrative aspects of the company.
  15. Comply with the standards, policies and procedures established by the Human Resources department and the company.
  16. Make daily Maintenance Reports using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  17. Usually or regularly operate a motor vehicle as part of the performance of duties and/or occasionally operate suspended floor cranes.

Requirements

Education/Experience/Certifications or Licenses

  • Associate or Technician Degree in mechanics, electricity or electronics.
  • 1 year of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment and industrial equipment of intermediate complexity.
  • License: Driver - Valid

Desirable requirements

  • Have a License as an Electrician, Refrigeration Technician and/or Certified in Mechanics or Electronics.
  • Plumber's License.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Intermediate level English.
  • Read and write - intermediate level.
  • Basic knowledge of welding.
  • Knowledge to read and interpret schematics.
  • Knowledge tied to quality, ISO9001 and ISO14001.
  • Knowledge of processes and tools linked to the Lean methodology.
  • Knowledge of statistics - basic level.
  • Basic knowledge of bodywork and painting.
  • Knowledge and ability to use the Windows operating system.
  • Ability to interpret and read plans.
  • Management of advanced level production machinery.
  • Knowledge in the operation and management of instrumentation tools and circuits.
  • Knowledge of multiple operational processes.
  • Knowledge of mathematics at an advanced level.
  • Knowledge of inventory management.
  • Knowledge of calibration.
  • Knowledge of advanced level product and/or process inspection.
  • Knowledge of LOTO, electrical risks, confined spaces, fall protection, chemical handling and safety equipment management.
  • Advanced level knowledge of electronics.
  • Experience in complex mechanics.
  • Plumbing experience.
  • Experience in refrigeration.
  • Technical knowledge in health and safety.
  • Basic knowledge in advanced level parts manufacturing.
  • Experience in preparation and adjustments of production machinery - advanced level.
  • Experience in water treatment systems.
  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems/PPM process.
  • Knowledge of paint application.
  • Troubleshooting.
  • Ability to plan your tasks daily and/or coordination.
