Lifting Engineer

Job PurposeThe Lifting Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring the safe execution of all lifting operations in compliance with ADNOC standards, international safety regulations, and project requirements. The role ensures that all lifting equipment, procedures, and personnel meet approved safety and operational standards.Key Responsibilities• Prepare and review lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments for all heavy and critical lifting activities.• Ensure all lifting operations comply with ADNOC HSE requirements, company procedures, and international standards .• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and logistics teams for safe lifting operations.• Supervise crane operations, rigging activities, and lifting equipment usage at site.• Review and approve critical lift plans including tandem lifts, heavy lifts, and complex rigging arrangements.• Ensure all lifting equipment (cranes, slings, shackles, hooks, etc.) are certified, inspected, and maintained as per ADNOC standards.• Verify competency and certification of crane operators, riggers, and lifting supervisors.• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and lifting safety awareness programs.• Monitor lifting operations to ensure compliance with approved lifting plans and safety procedures.• Investigate lifting incidents, near misses, and prepare incident reports and corrective actions.• Liaise with ADNOC inspectors and client representatives for lifting approvals and inspections.• Maintain lifting registers, equipment inspection records, and documentation.
Qualifications• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.• Additional certification in Lifting Engineering / Lifting Appointed Person / Rigging Engineering is preferred.Experience• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in lifting operations within Oil & Gas, EPC, or offshore construction projects.• Minimum 3–5 years working on ADNOC projects in UAE.• Proven experience in heavy lifts, critical lifting operations, and crane management.Certifications (Preferred / Required)• ADNOC Approved Lifting Engineer Certification• LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) certification – preferred• Appointed Person for Lifting Operations (APLO)• Valid HSE Training / Safety CertificationSkills & Competencies• Strong knowledge of crane load charts, rigging calculations, and lifting plans.• Familiarity with ADNOC lifting procedures and HSE standards.• Ability to review engineering drawings and lifting studies.• Excellent coordination and communication skills.• Strong commitment to safety and risk management
