Role Summary
Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the selected candidate will be primarily responsible for performing quality control testing of raw materials and finished products for powder, liquid and epoxy products and providing support to chemists assigned to the various R&D projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality control testing to demonstrate conformity of product quality and identify any product-related non-conformances. If necessary, it will launch actions to correct and prevent non-conformities.
- Record product quality findings, including issues.
- Complete non-compliance reports, if necessary.
- Deal with non-compliant products.
- Participate, with the technology director and/or production director, in the search for solutions and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Perform calibration of laboratory equipment (person responsible for calibration only).
- Complete the forms related to the position.
- Implement the various procedures of the environmental management program applicable to your sector of activity.
- Carry out projects requested by the Technology Director as well as any other related tasks while respecting Sika Canada Inc.'s quality assurance procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or relevant work experience in a chemical laboratory.
- Professional experience in research and quality control, preferably in a related field.
- Bilingual (French and English) to facilitate exchanges with the team outside Quebec (60% of the time) and our international colleagues.
- Know how to use all testing equipment according to the recognized rules of the profession.
- Take training from Sika Canada Inc. on all procedures applicable to his position (SMS, environment, health and safety).
