Role Summary

Reason for employment

Under the authority of the supervisor, the Laboratory Technician conducts analyzes on different consumer products according to the methods developed and writes the reports. He analyzes materials in contact with drinking water, mainly pipes according to the BNQ method and writes the reports.

Description of responsibilities

Carry out physico-chemical and mechanical analyzes according to requests;

Interpret the results of sampling associated with various projects and prepare technical reports, including recommendations if necessary.

Monitor quality operations such as temperature records, calibration, verification of devices according to standards, specifications and technical sheets;

Participate in maintaining ISO 17025 standards;

Perform all other tasks related to activities that may help the immediate superior.

Requirements

• DEC in chemistry, analytical chemistry or equivalent;
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry and member of the order (an asset);
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office suite and Windows environment and understanding of different software;
• Advanced level spoken and written French;
• Intermediate spoken and written English
• Skills required
• Be organized, autonomous and methodical;
• Ability to adapt to changes;
• Spirit of analysis and synthesis;
• Good writing and calculation skills;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Demonstrates speed of learning and execution in his functions and tasks;
