Role Summary

• This position combines two complementary roles at Sopra Steria:
• IT Operations / Workplace Services
• System Engineer & Infrastruktur
• IT Operations & Workplace Services (ca. 50%)
• Installation, configuration and deployment of PCs, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals
• Administration and lifecycle management of end devices including hardware replacement
• Installation, configuration and maintenance of standard software and client systems
• Processing IT service requests and incidents in the ticketing system
• User and permission management (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, LDAP)
• Planning and execution of hardware and software orders including delivery and installations on site and at the customer's site
• Participation in rollouts of new hardware and workplace solutions
• Maintaining inventory and documentation of IT workstations
• Support in the continuous improvement of IT service processes
• System Engineering & Infrastruktur (ca. 50%)
• Building a deep, technical understanding of our higher-level control systems
• Installation and administration of applications and solutions developed in-house
• Responsible for the stability, maintenance and further development of our on-premise infrastructure and selected customer environments
• Technical 2nd/3rd level support with a focus on servers, virtualization, networks and central IT services
• Analyze and resolve complex technical faults in close collaboration with the engineering team & development team
• Collaboration on infrastructure, cloud and security projects
• Installation, configuration and maintenance of server, storage and network components
• Support in the further development of our monitoring, backup and automation solutions
• Participation in 24/7 on-call service in a rotating system (approx. 1 week per month, fully compensated)

Requirements

• Completed training in the field of computer science or as an ICT specialist EFZ or comparable further training
• Several years of professional experience in the areas of IT operations, system engineering or IT infrastructure
• Practical experience in operating both Windows client and server environments as well as Linux based server environments
• Good knowledge of Active Directory
• Experience with hardware deployment and client lifecycle management
• Experience in dealing with ticketing systems (e.g. Jira Service Management)
• Good knowledge of networks (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, firewall)
• Experience with VMware or comparable virtualization solutions
• Independent, structured and solution-oriented way of working, as well as a problem-solving mentality
• Willingness to travel within Switzerland
• Willingness for on-call duty
• Enjoy direct contact with users
• Very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of English

Nice to have

• Erfahrung mit PowerShell, Bash oder Python
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure
• Experience with backup solutions (e.g. Veeam)
• Erfahrung mit Monitoring-Systemen (z. B. Zabbix)
• Knowledge of French is an advantage
