Missions/tasks entrusted

Presentation of the group

Within GE (General Electric) Renewable Energy, Grid Solutions develops solutions to effectively manage a rapidly changing global electricity network, with ever-increasing performance, environmental and cost constraints. The Aix-Les-Bains establishment (73 - Savoie) with a workforce of 800 people specializes in the production of gas-insulated substations under metal enclosures whose function is the protection and transmission of electricity in High Voltage. Its professions cover all activities, from product design, marketing, engineering, production, to commissioning and customer after-sales service.

In a context of digitalization of the traceability of the assembly and test results of GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) products, the trainee will have to establish a traceability map and develop digitalization tools (Controls, Test results, traceability of parts etc.) in connection with the manufacturing and assembly process in order to ensure complete and flawless traceability.

Reasons/Context for Recruitment

Quality Traceability Digitalization Project

Required qualities

Willingness to learn about the quality/production environment, the world of high-voltage networks, and knowledge of GIS products.

Responsibilities

Description of the Internship

Integrated into the Quality team on the Aix-les Bains site, the intern will be responsible for working, in collaboration with different departments (Production, R&D, BE, etc.), on the following projects:

  • Understand manufacturing and testing processes, internal/customer needs, and establish a map of Supplier/Factory/Site traceability needs.
  • Develop and offer reliable IT tools (Excel VBA, Database, etc.) to be implemented to facilitate the entry of test results, the edition of automatic reports, the automatic calculation of criteria and results and the storage of data in Datalake logic.
  • Establish a basis of testing criteria in conjunction with the design office and R&D by defining a future harmonization of format between the tools created and the specifications.
  • Define simplified entry logic by avoiding re-entry as much as possible, the risk of errors or missing items and by facilitating the link with the ERP software in place.
  • Implement testing phases, testing tools and advanced debugging.
  • Establish operating procedures.
  • Implement the system on the production lines
