Role Summary
The process technician supports the development, validation, continuous improvement and transfer of manufacturing processes. This role collaborates closely with engineering, quality and production teams to ensure processes are robust, validated and capable of meeting product and regulatory requirements. Mechanical design and technical drawing skills are used to support activities related to tooling, fixtures and process development.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation and improvement of manufacturing processes
- Participate in the introduction of new products (NPI) and technology transfers to production
- Support process validation activities, testing and qualification of equipment and processes
- Contribute to the definition and development of parameters, control plans, work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Perform process trials, testing, data collection and analysis to support continuous improvement
- Participate in root cause analysis, troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions
- Provide hands-on technical support to production for troubleshooting, development and process optimization
- Apply mechanical design and drafting skills to design or modify tooling, fixtures and equipment
- Support equipment commissioning, basic programming, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ensure that equipment and tools meet production and process requirements
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards
- Maintain technical documentation related to processes, validations and changes
- Provide technical support and training to operators and production staff as needed
Requirements
- DEC (Quebec) or technical diploma in mechanical engineering, physical engineering or equivalent field.
- Availability for occasional travel (less than 10%, nationally and internationally).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or process engineering.

In this position, you will be required to examine, handle or transfer highly confidential equipment and technology, including technical data or technical assistance (such as instructions, training, etc.), classified as controlled goods. These goods are of military or strategic importance, are essential to national security and are strictly regulated under the Defense Production Act (DPA) and the Controlled Goods Regulations (CGR) under Canada's Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

The work environment includes offices, factories and repair facilities. The noise level is generally high in the factory and the wearing of PPE is mandatory.
