Electrical engineer (AVEVA knowledge) / Electrical Engineer (AVEVA Knowledge)

Role Summary

Provide electrical leadership as a principal electrical engineer on small and medium-sized projects in industrial sectors such as pulp and paper, mining and metals, energy production, etc.

Act as the primary electrical department representative for the AVEVA software platform, providing technical leadership, user support, troubleshooting and guidance.

Serve as AFRY's main contact with the customer for electrical questions.

Participate in engineering review meetings with the AFRY project team as well as separate review meetings with the client.

Carry out electrical engineering and design tasks.

Distribute work and supervise junior and intermediate engineers.

Act as an AVEVA specialist/referent.

Have excellent knowledge of electrical design, particularly to develop single-line diagrams, grounding plans and details, MV and LV motor control center (MCC) layouts and controls, cable lists (sizing of cables and conductors), control panel plans, power and motor control diagrams, field wiring, connection lists, interconnection diagrams, as well as uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and power systems emergency.

Prepare electrical equipment specifications, analyze submissions from electrical equipment suppliers and make recommendations.

Review and comment on drawings provided by equipment suppliers.

Review electrical installation standards applicable to projects and develop new ones if necessary.

Approve and seal electrical drawings.

Perform the required electrical calculations.

Coordinate design with other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.

Provide electrical leadership as Lead electrical engineer on small to medium size projects in industrial sectors such as Pulp & Paper, Mining and Metals, Power Generation…etc

Act as the Electrical Department’s primary representative for the AVEVA Software Platform, providing technical leadership, user support, troubleshooting, and guidance to the Users

Serve as AFRY’s electrical liaison with the Client

Attend engineering review meetings with AFRY’s Project team and attend separate review meetings with the Client.

Complete electrical engineering and design tasks

Assign work and provide guidance to junior and intermediate engineers.

Serve as AVEVA

Possesses very good knowledge of electrical design. Develop single line diagrams, grounding plans and details, MV & LV MCC layouts and controls, cable schedules (cable, conductor sizing), control panel layouts, motor power and control schematics and field wiring, termination list, interconnection wiring diagrams, UPS and emergency back-up systems.

Prepare electrical equipment specifications, do Bid Analysis of quotations from electrical equipment suppliers and make recommendations.

Review and make comments to drawings from Vendor supplied equipment.

Review electrical Installation standards for project specific installations. Develop new ones as required.

Perform electrical calculations

Coordinate design with other engineering disciplines for successful project completions.
