On its site located in Villeurbanne (France), the Grid Solutions activity designs, tests and manufactures high-voltage circuit breakers intended for its national and international customers.

To support a strong growth market driven by the energy transition and the development of low-carbon electricity networks, the electrification branch of GE Vernova is investing massively in the development of new technologies and new products.

The position is attached to the technical department of the Villeurbanne unit.

Calculation Activities

• Pressure calculation
• For the Villeurbanne site, in coordination with the calculation expert, he is the technical referent on pressure calculation methodologies as well as on the operational instructions describing the design and sizing rules.
• Carrying out calculations for the benefit of development BEs and the associated calculation notes.
• Ensure technological monitoring of developments in the fields of Calculations
• Seismic calculation
• As part of the center of skills and excellence, in coordination with the calculation expert, he is the technical referent on seismic calculation methodologies.
• Ensure that calculations are carried out for the benefit of development engineering offices as well as for specific specifications and associated calculation notes.
• Ensure technological monitoring of developments in the fields of Calculations

Know

• Have general knowledge of mechanics, electricity and chemistry
• Have general knowledge of HV circuit breakers
• Have knowledge of programming languages
• Knowledge of Ansys software is a plus

Know how

• Be able to read and translate technical English
• Have mastery of office tools
• Have mastery of business applications (Windchill, Creo Parametric, etc.)
• Know the configuration principles of Creo Parametric
• Know how to learn from past experiences
• Estimate the order of magnitude of the result before a calculation with the tools, identify a doubtful result, know how to set the calculation conditions

Responsibilities

PLM activities

• Manage user access to data
• Train unit users
• Lead the user community
• Participate in the digital approach of the product line
• Be the unit's referent
• In conjunction with the PLM System manager,
• - Test new features
• Develop user manuals
• Coordinate the implementation of applications and their updates
• Participate in the community of PLM referents of the product line

Internal standardization activities

• Develop internal specifications for the unit in conjunction with the PT Standardization manager administrator
• Participate in updating libraries in ERP and PLM/CAD systems
• Lead harmonization actions within the unit
• Manage business instructions
