Role Summary

As a Data Scientist at Sopra Steria, you work on projects where data really makes a difference. You apply AI in practice: from fraud detection to analyzing payment flows, from recommendation systems to NLP solutions for the government.

You work with Python, R, notebooks and cloud environments such as Azure or AWS. Whether you build models, put existing models into production or spar with customers about what is really needed, you ensure that data really works.

A selection of your activities

• building, testing and improving machine learning models
• applying deep learning, NLP, computer vision or anomaly detection
• putting models into production using MLOps principles
• collaborating with colleagues from different areas of expertise, both technical and strategic
• interpret, substantiate and translate customer data into concrete value

You work hybrid, with Groningen as your permanent base.

Requirements

You are curious, analytical and know how to translate complex models into something that customers can actually use. You enjoy working with others, but you also take responsibility independently.

• a master's degree or comparable experience in data science, machine learning or AI
• experience with Python or R
• knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning or NLP
• experience with putting models into production, for example via Azure, AWS or GCP
• affinity with explainable AI, MLOps or, for example, anomaly detection
• you speak Dutch at a minimum B2 level
