Role Summary
Plan, lead and execute audits in accordance with applicable procedures, standards and scheme requirements or client SOPs, acting as lead auditor or member of the audit team and identifying opportunities for improvement in clients' management systems.
Organize, direct and supervise the audit team during the pre-audit, execution and closing stages of audits, ensuring quality and compliance with established objectives.
Prepare the Audit Plan based on the client company information provided by the Operations Coordinators.
Present a professional image in all relationships with clients and auditees.
Comply with schedules and times established for audits, reports, deliverables, reviews, queries and other assigned activities.
Perform technical reviews of reports and audit packages for the standards in which you are qualified.
Design, develop and deliver technical training, training and calibration processes to auditors, internal staff and clients (when there is no conflict of interest).
Provide technical and commercial support in sales activities, product development, tenders and services of the subdivision.
Carry out pre-transfer reviews to incorporate clients from other certifying entities.
Keep your technical skills, qualifications and knowledge of the sector up to date through training, networking and trend monitoring.
Actively develop relationships through existing networks and contacts with the aim of maintaining competence and knowledge of sector developments and trends; keep up with customer expectations in this field; establish and maintain a network of stakeholders, including NGOs, industry bodies and related contacts; attend public and client-led conferences; and read news related to your area of interest.
Carry out internal audits of the sector (Level 2 Audits).
Mentor auditors and provide “on the job” training.
Participate in the qualification process of auditors and outsourced technical experts.
Observe other auditors during audits to ensure maintenance of competence (Level 1 Audits).
Respond to technical queries from customers and participate in the investigation of complaints, claims, appeals, quality and integrity issues when necessary.
Promote SGS approach and services at seminars and through presentations and articles.
Adopt safe behavior, exercising due respect for your own health and safety, as well as that of colleagues and clients, in line with company policies and procedures.
Attend the MIR that are assigned.
Comply with and promote the SGS Code of Ethics, Integrity, Professional Conduct and Impartiality, collaborating in investigations when required.
Training
- APSCA (CSCA) registration required
- Solid knowledge of SA8000/ISO14001/ICTI/C-TPAT/WRAP/BSCI
- Advanced level of English (spoken and written)
Requirements
Education
A higher education degree in Engineering, Law, Economics, Social Sciences or a related field
- Work experience in third party audit
- Minimum of two years of experience in supply chain activities
- Environmental audit experience (preferred)
- Project management experience (desirable)
- Team management/leadership experience (desirable)
- Conducting SMETA/BSCI/SA8000/WRAP audits or mixed audits in the last 12 months
