UX Designer:in - work study or compulsory internship

Role Summary

Bloom Future is a startup that develops a digital career guidance app for students, schools and companies. From our location at the Founders Campus in Heilbronn, we help young people make informed decisions about their professional future.

We are looking for a working student in UX design who is interested in actively shaping our digital products and further developing the user experience of Bloom Future.

Our product combines AI conversations, personal profiles, recommendations, explanations, learning paths and concrete professional opportunities. Every UX decision interacts with data, the behavior of the AI, technical conditions, trust and economic requirements.

Responsibilities

Our frontend is based on Flutter and Dart, our backend on Python and FastAPI. You don't have to be a software developer or write productive code. However, you should be curious and want to understand and examine repositories, documentation, API interfaces and existing implementations together with our developers and modern development tools.

Possible tasks are

• Examine existing product behavior and relevant technical framework conditions
• Structure problems and identify key assumptions and uncertainties
• Develop, compare and evaluate different solution approaches
• Implement and test ideas with students as prototypes
• Translate findings into interaction design, UI and concrete recommendations for action
• Document findings, considerations and open questions in a comprehensible manner
• Work closely with our CTO and engineers during implementation
• Question existing decisions and advance better solutions when a more sensible direction emerges

Requirements

• This is what you bring with you
• Experience in independently accompanying a product or an interaction task from the initial investigation to implementation
• A strong sense of interaction and product design
• Hands-on experience with user research and usability testing
• Systemic thinking and a good understanding of user flows, states, data and edge cases
• Technical curiosity and willingness to understand complex product behavior
• Clear reasoning and the courage to question decisions constructively
• Interested in using developer and AI-powered tools to examine product behavior and technical frameworks
